"The Jim Croce Story", a musical event in tribute to the late, great, Jim Croce was performed at The Katharine Hepburn Theater, Old Saybrook, CT on Friday, September 21st, 2012.
"Operator" ... "Time in a Bottle" ... "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" ... are just three of the many hits that were performed by "Maggie's Guitar" on their return to the Kate with their updated tribute to Croce, his partner, Maury Muehleisen, and friend Sal Joseph. The show featured Ron Gletherow, who played Jim Croce on the British national television show "Stars in their Eyes", the Maxwell Brothers of local Connecticut band, Silver Hammer Band, and very special guest Mike DiBenedetto, one of Jim Croce's closest college friends and first musical partner. www.katharinehepburntheater.org
Check out the new single release by A.J Croce, "Tarnished and Shining" from the upcoming album, "Twelve Tales".
"Twelve Tales will be released one song per month in 2013, starting with “Right on Time”. Twelve Tales delivers a dozen new tracks recorded by legendary producers across a variety of American cities. The lead single “Right on Time”, is produced and mixed by five-time Grammy winner Kevin Killen. The February single “Momentary Lapse of Judgement”, is produced by Nashville's illustrious “Cowboy” Jack Clement (Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley). The March single “Tarnished and Shining”, is produced by New Orleans' ambassador of funk Allen Toussaint (Dr. John, Paul McCartney). Twelve Tales is turning out to be the most unique and challenging album I've made to date. Each producer brings a new unique dimension, and traveling around the US to record with all these talented players is a real treat. This project is like a musical jigsaw puzzle without a box. I won't see the full picture until the last song is completed. ~A.J."
